This is one of the best motivational videos to tell a true story of runner Derek Redmond who ran the 400 meter at the 1992 Olympics. 150 meters into the race, Derek felt a searing pain...in agony he fell to the ground with a torn hamstring. Not willing to give up, determined to finish the race, he continued. Breaking through security, a man came to Derek's side...
Derek had the option of quitting at that very moment. Officials were running to his side. He could have easily bowed out of the race and quit.
But he pressed on. At the finish line, he recieved a standing ovation from over 65,000 in attendance, and the act of the one man who broke through security inspired millions.
This is a powerful message...one of persevering in a dream, persisting at something even when it hurts and seems impossible. And it's an inspiring story about the supportive foundation of people who believed in Derek! Yet it was Derek himself who made the decision to finish.
This is a beautiful tribute created by Connie Lynne, who shortly after producing this motivational video experienced her own family tragedy, but found incredible support in the people around her. The song, "You Raise Me Up" is sung by Josh Grobin.
