The Watts Towers celebrates Simon Radia’s thirty-year odyssey creating his monumental folk art. Settling in the troubled Los Angeles neighborhood of Watts, Radia used found objects: tile, broken glass, sea shells and steel in his sensational masterpiece – now recognized internationally as iconic folk art and sculpture. Three weeks after his death in 1965, the infamous Watts Riots broke out, however his artwork was spared.
