Motivational Videos - Nike's Jumprope

In one of Nike's motivational videos entitled "Jumprope", the idea of visualizing past successes and envisioning future results is very powerfully illustrated!  We see a hooded figure from the back vigorously working out at jumping rope; then we see a young man's face from the front, as he jumps, recalling the success he's experienced surfing as a boy, and then envisioning himself as a professional surfer in the future, succeeding in various wave jumps,.

I'll give you an example from my own life of how re-living past achievement and envisioning future successes made a difference.  As a college student, I sold educational books and Bibles door to door; like jump roping, selling books was a vigourous workout!  Achieving top 10% in the company, I was asked to train others to follow in my footsteps.

Here's how I would encourage my organization to envision their future success.  When laying down to sleep the night before, I would tell my team to envision the first sales call of the next morning: walking up to the door with a big smile, greeting "Mrs. Jones", receiving her invitation to come in, listening and seeing the benefits of the educational material for her family, and then writing a check!  This kind of anticipation made that first door the next morning so much easier... and it worked!
