Motivational Videos - Real Beauty Sketches

This is one of those amazing motivational videos about beauty; our own perception and how others perceive us. It's very touching and thought provoking for me, and I'm pretty certain it will be for you as well.

In this short 6 minute motivational video, we see a person arrive at an empty office space with only a couch, a drafting board with an artist seated facing away, and windows out to the city. We hear the voices of several of these people, one by one, tell that they didn't initially know why they were being asked questions. But then after several questions about their facial features, one lady said that she could tell that the artist was sketching her face. Questions included 'Describe your hair", or "What is your most prominent feature?"  The FBI trained forensic artist, Gil Zamora, with his back to the person being interviewed, and a curtain separating them, sketched each person by their own description.  Then they brought in others to describe the same person who just described themselves, and Zamora sketched a different image from their descriptions.  I love how Zamora described how he arrived at these two sketches, describing it to one lady, "Here is the sketch that you helped me create, and that's a sketch that somebody described of you."

Then, at a later time, they allow each person interviewed to view the two sketches side by side, and describe the differences, "She looks closed off and fatter, sadder too. The second one looks more open, friendly and happy."  Another says, "I should be more grateful of my natural beauty."  Zamora, the forensic artist, asks, "Do you think that you're more beautiful than you say?" Then the concluding graphic wraps the video with, "You are more beautiful than you think."

What I like about this motivational video, whether we're male or female, is considering how we think of ourselves. How we perceive ourselves, our features, our capabilities, our value to others, can be helpful or harmful. Our lives are full...there is a time and place to think about ourselves, but for most of us, much of our time is in serving others, caring for them, selflessly giving of our time and resources, as we do for our friends, families, those in our community, and in sales situations.

And yet, our perception of how others perceive us is not always accurate, at least in the eyes of the beholder; we invest a great deal of effort sizing up how well received we will be, how our clients will accept or not accept us and our business proposal. The message of Beauty Sketches is that we can rest in the fact that we are beautiful to others, and we are beautiful to our Creator who made us. It strikes a wonderful internal chord!

Perhaps I can assist you with licensing this video for your business meeting and customizing it with your organization logo; we can make that happen. Or, perhaps you want to create a custom video from scratch for your organzation that touches on a topic that is equally as important. Our team can assist with both; and we'll throw in a free initial consultation as a way of getting started.
