Take Risks - Best Motivational Videos

This motivational video for Allstate illustrates one of my favorite Proverbs: A person who doesn't want to work says, "There's a lion in the road! There's an angry lion wandering in the streets!"  Sometimes I don't want to leave the comforts of my own home because I'm afraid of what might happen. My life involves risk: driving my car to the office, making sales calls, meeting face to face with clients...and yet, I still do it! Taking risks is part of a good life.

I love the script, told by a young child,

"There are man-eating sharks in every ocean, but we still swim.

Every second, somewhere in the world, lightening strikes, but we still play in the rain.

Poisonous snakes can be found in 49 of the 50 states, but we still go looking for adventure.

A car can crash, a house can crumble, but we still drive, and love coming home!

Because deep down we know, all the bad things that happen in life can't stop us from making our lives...good."

In much the same way...we know there are risks in business, in getting face to face with our client prospects, facing gatekeepers, voice mail, no return emails and rejection, but the rewards are so good! The clients who do business together and benefit from our service makes it all worthwhile! The lives that are changed as a result of providing a service is wonderful! That's what's so amazing about this motivational video! It illustrates how we can't be stopped, even when there are risks.

We all know deep down that risk pays off. When I started in sales training in 1996, my sales leader Roddy Dye told me, "This job pays through the no's".  Everyday, I received at least 5 no's and 13 yes's. Woohoo! It did pay through the no's, after all.
