A single shot of a baseball game with each player distracting those on base, but then comes the pitch. Dick's Sporting Goods puts together some of the best motivational videos - stories that relate to the leader of a sales force as well as decision making in daily living. We all have critical decisions to make everyday, much like this pitcher.

Dick's Sporting Goods "Every Pitch" from a52 on Vimeo.

This one-minute spot is shot as one continuous camera move; we hear the individual chatter of the outfield team, one at a time. We see the batter for the opposing team swing and miss, taking a strike. The camera moves from looking towards first base, swinging behind the batter, with a new view towards third base, with a man on first and third. The third baseman fakes out the runner on third with a hit to his glove and a sudden movement. The camera then pans to the left fielder as he shouts, "Nothing over my head!"; the camera moves next to another member of the team, the short stop, encouraging the pitcher, 'It's me and you...go double, go double", and then the camera moves to the center fielder who is jumping up and down, shouting and pointing, "Hey, you got one, you got one", alerting the pitcher to throw the ball to first base for the runner who is leading off.  The pitcher throws to first base, then in a series of camera moves pans back through each of the teammates: the second baseman, short stop and third baseman. We hear the teammates yelling instructions to the pitcher. With intensity in his eyes, the spot ends focuses on the eyes of the pitcher; we know his next decision is essential to the game!

In much the same way, the key sales person has many people coaching from the outfield: the VP with ideas on how to move forward, the organization players rooting their fellow teammmates, family members crying out for the person's time and energy; community involvement is crying for commitments; all this in addition to the thoughts inside the mind of the sales leader himself -- with their own personal desired results.

Every pitch counts, and yet this pitcher makes the call of what direction to move, whether to send the ball to home base, first base or somewhere else! The decision affects the entire team's results!

I love the intensity that this spot builds, much like real life. And the part we don't see is that several other pitchers are warming up on deck, waiting to take his place, should he make a series of poor decisions. The best decision requires focus to win the game. Priorities makes such a difference!

Are you looking to build up your team in making the right decisions, to get the best effort of your key sales teammates in every pitch? Do you want them to visualize thinking through various input, keeping what's best for the team in mind? We can either license and customize this motivational video for your organization, or create a custom story - based on the specifics of your sales force. A good first step is to connect with me: I'll listen to your desired-for result and then provide you with a creative plan for video to communicate your message (complimentary initital consultation).  Every pitch matters!

One of the best things I do is to collaborate with our creative production team. I like to see productions get results! Those results include helping tell the vision of an organization, engaging in a sales effort, helping customers better understand the big picture of an organization, or helping clients see the value of services. One of my favorite compliments is from a client that said, "This is the best tool we've had in over 22 years to tell our story!" Specialties: Making an idea or concept come to life through video media: motivational videos, custom video production, and event production.
