A father sending his teenage son on an overnight mission to build his own furnitureThis short motivational video, a 3 minute motion picture, tells a powerful story of a young man who was sent out into the wilderness to accomplish his work, proving his valience, and then the pride of the villagers as he and the other boys from the village return, having accomplished their feat.

The motivational short opens with a young man riding on the back of a horse drawn wagon, arriving in a village that is set back a few years in time. The boy then jumps off the cart, runs around a small lake, and into his home where he meets his Dad who tells him succinctly, "Son, tomorrow." Tomorrow for what? We don't yet know; but it's important.  We see the lad put a tool into a leather pouch that he will carry with him tomorrow.  While the lad is resting and anticipating the day, the father lays something wrapped in cloth next to him. The son sits up, unwraps the cloth to reveal a unique tool, and his father tells him that the tool was given to him by his father and is now for his son.

Early the next morning, the entire village is assembled to send the young men out into the wilderness. The gates of the gated community are drawn open, the horn is blown, and all the young men throughout the community valiantly walk out of the village, with proud parents and young women looking on. Everyone expects greatness from these celebrated boys; greatness in exactly what - we don't yet know.

As the sun sets, the young men chop wood in the forest, and one by one they set up a campfire in their independent locations in the wilderness. We don't see what transpires the next morning, but we do see that the smoke from the campfire is nearly out.  The next afternoon, the villagers once again gather inside the gates with anticipation to welcome the young men back from their journey; the horn is blown. There is uncertaintly on the faces of the parents and onlookers as they anticipate the arrival of the young men and their accomplishments.

The gates of the village are opened, and the camera focuses on the boots of the young man who was given his father's and grandfather's crafting tool, and then we see the young man's face, with his hands lifted overhead proudly carrying a hand made chair - now we know what was to have taken place! The camera pulls back to reveal all the young men returning, each carrying hand made furniture from the wilderness.  The uncertainty of the crowd turns to cheers and celebration, delighted with the work that these young men have accomplished. Then we see the title, "Let's Be Men Again"! And the sub-heading..."Let's build our own furniture."

There are so many similarities between this short motivational film for easy to assemble furniture Tok&Stok and the sales force! When I was in college, and for the following ten years, I trained college students in door to door sales. We were each given tools: a 'bookbag' with sample books, order forms, reports, and incredible sales training. Then we were sent into our territory to prove ourselves as men and women in the work that we had been prepared for. Even though not all sales are about building our own furniture, there is a product or service that we distribute, using the basic knowledge that we've been taught.

One of the best things I do is to collaborate with our creative production team. I like to see productions get results! Those results include helping tell the vision of an organization, engaging in a sales effort, helping customers better understand the big picture of an organization, or helping clients see the value of services. One of my favorite compliments is from a client that said, "This is the best tool we've had in over 22 years to tell our story!" Specialties: Making an idea or concept come to life through video media: motivational videos, custom video production, and event production.
