An animated motion graphic video illustrating what a video is worth in terms of the power on social media.Everyone loves watching motivational videos. But what is the value of a video in terms of the effectiveness and 'stickiness', from a statistics standpoint? Exactly how powerful is an online video for business?

The use of video has skyrocketed in the past 5 years with the use of YouTube and other video sites, as well as the use of video on business sites.

Why is video so effective? For one thing, we have five senses, and video uses at least two of these: sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch. From What's a Video Worth, "Videos have both visual and audio information that complement each other which results in high levels of engagement, and makes knowledge retention much easier".

Video engagement statistics are continually being updated, and even with statistics in this clip that revert back a few months, the point is clear: the effectiveness of online video can be 6X more powerful than print or direct mail.  This inspirational video points out that "videos aren't just being watched. They're being liked, shared, forwarded, commented on, and interacted with."  "Video on the landing page of a website is 53% more likely to show up on a Google search."

The first step of an effective video is writing the script, which defines the overall message and impact of the video. The script can include a storyboard, and it's the perfect place to define the overall images, message and text, without involving a crew (Producer, camera, audio, lighting, make up, etc.). Then, once the script is written, then the production team gets involved. One of the best things I do is to collaborate with our creative production team. I like to see productions get results! Those results include helping tell the vision of an organization, engaging in a sales effort, helping customers better understand the big picture of an organization, or helping clients see the value of services. One of my favorite compliments is from a client that said, "This is the best tool we've had in over 22 years to tell our story!" Specialties: Making an idea or concept come to life through video media: motivational videos, custom video production, and event production.
