When 21 people work together on one task, the result can be amazing! In one of Ferrari’s motivational videos, we see how amazingly fast and efficient a team can be.
There's a bit of a wait at the front end of this motivational video, as this team anticipates the arrival of the F1 Ferrari. But once the Ferrari pulls into the pit area, there is no wasting time. My fascination with this amazing motivational video is how this team works together in a split second. They remove the tires, replace them with new tires, and the car is out of the pit area in lightening speed.
When I led a sales force with Thomas Nelson Publishers, I observed that a few individuals weren't excited about recommended practice that would ultimately increase productivity. On the other hand, the top performers were willing to create a vision statement, keep daily records, set goals, and invest in additional training. On this short inspirational video, it seems obvious that each of the 21 people on this team has experienced extensive training. Daily training is not always glamorous, but it's essential to keep on track, so to speak!
As an interesting side note, as a result of viewing this video, I was inspired to learn a bit more about F1 racing tires; they're very different than the tires that I use on my Acura, for example. Whereas auto tires will perform for at least 10,000 miles (16,000 kilometers), an F1 tire will perform approximately 75 miles (120 kilometers). That's because it endures up to 5g of lateral and longitudinal loadings during the race. And of course, these racers are traveling at speeds of up to 225 mph!
This is probably one of the shortest motivational videos that I've discovered, yet so fascinating because of the parallels to preparation as a sales force.
