Some of the longest running and most successful business are family owned (Mars, SC Johnson & Son, Kohler). In this inspirational video, the beginnings, difficulties and commencement of a new era in the business are told so well.
This inspirational video takes place over 15 to 20 years of time, beginning with a flashback from the grand opening of a bakery with a father and his young boy; this boy grows with the business and experiences many changes: in house dining, coffee service, and a new logo brand. The 20-something young man is shown an outside work opportunity by a friend, and takes on what he thinks will be a fabulous and glamourous lifestyle. And yet he eventually returns to his father's business and becomes the owner.
What I love about this inspirational video is that it's made to appear very true to life, which requires an entire team to navigate. For instance, with the acting, when the father gets news of his son's leaving for an ouside job, he responds with a sort of disappointment/regret/devastation (rather than anger or apathy)! This intentionality makes the story more believable and emotional.
The inspirational video contains no dialogue, which enables it to be used in any country around the globe. In a brief 3 minutes, this story shows the highs and lows of owning a business, the value of personal relationships, the power of advertising (banners, business cards, logo development), as well as feelings of success in providing excellent service. And apparently the crew along with the creative directors equally experienced challenges; see behind the scenes.
