This motivational video opens by posing the challenge: "If you were given the chance to do something that you've always wanted to do, but you had to start today"...what would it be? The surprise answer from this father and daughter is so heartwarming!
This motivational video features a real family doing daily life. The father says, "Life can be a bit hectic, trying to hold the wheels on, but we do what we have to do to be parents..." Referring to his three children, he goes on, "I think we're just going to blink our eyes and they're all going to be in university or getting married and moving away!"
To be certain, there is a lot of behind the scenes camera work in the life of this 5 person family. But the surprise at the conclusion is delightful!
Lauren, or 'Lu-Lu" as her Dad calls her, is the youngest at 10. Lauren says, "Dance is a very big part of my life." Lauren started taking lessons at age 4, and she adds, "It makes me feel good doing what I actually love to do." She continues, "It takes up a lot of time, but I'd much rather do this than anything else."
The producer, when he begins to 'grill' the Dad and Lauren, says, "You both wrote down that you'd both like to spend more time together...would you like that?" To which Lauren responds with a resounding, "Yeah!" The Producer continues, "The sky's the limit...if you could do anything together, what would you do?" To which the father and Lauren look at each other and smile...and so begins this short story of doing something that Lauren always wanted to happen...making the dream a reality!
What I like about this production is that it gives some insight into the tension of running a business while leading a family -- in terms of time, the hectic-ness with school and daily activities -- and yet there is still time to accomplish dreams, both for Lauren and her Dad. And in the process of serving one another, they become closer!
